Background Information
Cumberland Wood Products, Inc. was founded in 1976 by Robert M. Love to service the B.F. Goodrich hose division located in Oneida, Tennessee. Cumberland expanded its product line manufacturing wood reels, crates/boxes, pallets and paper tubes for industrial customers located throughout the United States.

In 2000, Cumberland Wood Products, Inc. reached gross sales of 25 million. The company created strategic supplier alliances with companies located throughout the world: Brazil, Italy, France and Russia.  Cumberland began importing wood products and supplies primarily from Italy, Brazil, and Russia due to the developed strategic alliances. This enabled the company to hedge against domestic wood price increases and capture a significant share of the wood reel market.

In June of 2001, Cumberland Wood Products, Inc. sold the reel division, which accounted for a major portion of its annual sales. The company continues to manufacture industrial packaging components, skids and pallets. Subsequent to the sale of the reel division, Cumberland has entered new markets related to dimensional wood products supplying trailer manufacturers. In addition, the company produces specialty wood components and products to a diverse customer base from steering wheel manufacturers to handicap workshops. In addition, the company is seeking to grow in the hardwood and plywood dimension markets.
